Advocacy and Consulting

Welcome to The Autistic Educator, a space created by an autistic consultant and advocate who understands the complexity of living, working, and supporting others in a world that often misunderstands neurodivergence. Here, you’ll find real talk, evidence-based education, and unapologetic advocacy for autistic individuals of all ages. Whether you’re a provider, parent, or neurodivergent yourself, this site is here to inform, challenge, and empower you. Together, we can build systems that make space for every mind.

Meet The Autistic Educator

5+ Years Experience

Hi, I’m Andrew Math. I’m an autistic adult with a background in political science, public policy, and environmental science. More importantly, I’m someone who’s lived the experience of navigating the world as an autistic person in systems that weren’t built with us in mind.

I was diagnosed as a teenager, after years of struggling with depression, anxiety, masking, and burnout. I know what it feels like to be misunderstood by peers, teachers, mental health providers, and institutions that meant well but didn’t know how to help. I also know how powerful it is when we finally feel seen, heard, and supported.

I’ve worked full-time, earned a bachelor’s degree, and built an independent life with the support of a disability services team and a lot of self-advocacy. I now use that experience to educate providers, educators, employers, and allies on how to truly support autistic people because autism-informed isn’t enough. We need autistic-informed.
